Stella is a junior at Jesuit High School. She is passionate about science and art and is very proud of her cultural heritage. To further her passion, Stella devotes her time to education and change for children of new immigrants, as well as to promoting Chinese culture in the local community. Stella led the Youth-link teaching programs, participated in BSD summer teaching programs for migrant workers, volunteered at Rose Haven women’s shelter, promoted Chinese culture awareness at Beaverton Welcoming Week, and actively engaged in many OCC-led activities, including Lan Su Garden Chinese Conversation Table, Jade Dance Team, and English Teaching programs.

Stella has discovered how fundamental education is to society and to her own growth, and she is proud that her work is able to make an impact in her community.

Oregon Chinese Coalition is proud to join the President of the United States in recognizing the volunteers who consistently take the time to make a difference in the lives of others. Therefore, it is a great honor to present the President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) to Stella Wang.
