Brian is a sophomore at Lincoln High School, participating in the Lincoln Support and Services Club. As a co-founder of the Lincoln Biking Club, where students go on bike rides, and organize educational sessions, teaching essential skills like repairing a flat tire. In addition, Brian is a member of the school’s debate team, qualifying to state for Lincoln Douglas debate, and is involved in recruiting new members. He is also part of the school’s Constitution Team and received a varsity letter for Water Polo. Brian’s other leadership positions include the Multnomah County Youth Advisory Board, where he was elected to be the Communications Officer. He was also the fundraising manager for a class project that raised $4800+ for a local non-profit organization specializing in addiction recovery. Brian also volunteered his time for a local political campaign, spending lots of his summer canvassing throughout Portland, working on the campaign website, and learning about public policy.
Oregon Chinese Coalition is proud to join the President of the United States in recognizing the volunteers who consistently take the time to make a difference in the lives of others. Therefore, it is a great honor to present the President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) to Brian Wei.
