Eli is currently a junior at Lakeridge High School, where he is the co-president of the Bio-Olympiad Club, and media lead for the SDA (Students Demand Action) club. He works on media for the Oregon Music Giving Organization as well, helping to grow awareness. He also participates in the AAPI Student Union. As a member of his school’s debate team, he competes in parliamentary debate and extemporaneous speaking events, and has also helped with fundraising and recruiting. He also competes in swimming and tennis with his school. He developed an interest in medicine at an early age, leading him to volunteer at OHSU, providing guide services at their campuses over the summer of his freshman year. More recently, he has been accepted as a member of Lake Oswego’s Youth Leadership Council. In addition to this, he also participates in OCC events including their program at the Clark Center, a short-term residential program, which helps provide a variety of food for the shelter residents every month.
Oregon Chinese Coalition is proud to join the President of the United States in recognizing the volunteers who consistently take the time to make a difference in the lives of others. Therefore, it is a great honor to present the President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) to Eli Du.
