Sophia Lee is a sophomore at Sunset High School in Portland, OR who is actively involved in her community through various events and volunteer activities. As a youth lead on the Oregon Chinese Coalition (OCC) Youth Advisory Board, Sophia collaborates with other young leaders to support underserved individuals. She volunteers at the Banfield Shelter Motel to serve dinner to the residents there. Additionally, Sophia spreads her Chinese heritage by performing Guzheng, a traditional Chinese instrument, at multiple cultural events. Furthermore, as a member of the FTC ReVamped robotics team, Sophia dedicates many weekends to volunteering at Oregon FLL and FTC robotics tournaments and events. She also participates in community events across Oregon and Washington, demonstrating robots and promoting STEM education to youth.

Oregon Chinese Coalition is proud to join the President of the United States in recognizing the volunteers who consistently take the time to make a difference in the lives of others. Therefore, it is a great honor to present the President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) to Sophia Lee.
