Peer support can be an important tool in helping children and youth overcome personal challenges they are facing at school or at home. Our Peer Advisors are available to provide encouragement and resources to help their peers create goals and navigate stressful situations and experiences, and they are also available to simply provide an empathetic ear.
All meetings are offered free of charge. OCC and our Peer Advisors are committed to confidentiality unless the participating youth or others may be harmed significantly if the information is not disclosed.
Justin is a current junior at the University of Washington. Justin is pursuing a dual degree in Computer Science and Informatics, passionate about tech innovation for social good and impacting as many people as possible. He is also an Officer for the Chinese Student Association at UW, a CSE Peer Advisor, and a podcast host.
Allina is a first year Masters student at the Harvard Chan School of Public Health and a recent graduate of the University of Michigan, where she earned a B.S. in Neuroscience. She is passionate about improving mental health in young adult populations. Allina enjoys baking, the outdoors, and staying active.
Jenny is a junior at Jesuit High School, where she plays piano in the jazz band and leads the Asian Student Union club. She is highly interested in advocacy pursuits, specifically in regards to diversity and housing and education equity. Jenny enjoys listening to music, practicing the sport of fencing, and watching anime.
Kevin is a sophomore at Purdue University, majoring in finance with a minor in statistics. He has a passion for entrepreneurship and hopes to start his own business. He is involved on campus as consultant for the Boilermaker Consulting Group. Kevin loves to play soccer and has been playing ever since he was 7 years old.
Aileen is a senior at Interlake high school. Interest towards human behavior and concerns about the mental health among kids led her to work with non-profit organizations, read extensively on the topic, and to pursue psychology in college. Aileen loves reading, drawing, sharing mimes and following cats on Instagram.
Jenny is a junior at Sunset High School. Jenny face-paints and reads storytimes at the Portland's Children Museum, and she also leads an after-school club to volunteer with children. Jenny enjoys performing monologues for Speech and Debate. She hopes to study an interdisciplinary major between coding and art!
Steven is a junior at Catlin Gabel School. He is fascinated by neuroscience and behavioral science, and hopes to pursue a career in neurology. He is passionate about assisting with social work, helping people through tough times, and doing all he can to make the world a better place. Steven enjoys reading, playing D&D with friends, and sleeping.
Aaron Sha is a 3rd year attending USC as a Pre-Dental major with a Computational Biology Minor. Outside of class, he enjoys singing with his A Cappella group, writing for his science-communications journal, and producing music. Quarantine permitting, he also loves cooking with his friends and exploring local food venues.
Connor is currently a freshman at the University of Pennsylvania. He is pursuing a BA in Physics and a BSE in Systems Science and Engineering as part of the VIPER. Connor is passionate about building a sustainable future and preserving this beautiful planet of ours. He loves nature and is always down for a hike!
I’m Nova, I am a materials science and engineering student and freshman at Stanford. My passion lies in creating more efficient and accessible energy materials. In high school, I cofounded and led the Oregon Middle School Speech and Debate League. I enjoy drawing, folding origami, playing Minecraft, and hiking.
Alex is a pre-med senior majoring in Human Biology at the University of Southern California. Alex serves as the president of USC’s Soul Cal Breaking team, tutors as the vice president of Teach for Los Angeles, and volunteers in a research lab. Besides these activities, he also enjoys working out, breakdancing, and watching anime.
Jackie (Jiaqi) is a Junior at Sunset High School. She loves to learn about Psychology and Neurology, and hopes to pursue this field in the future. Her interests in these topics led to a passion for working with others and volunteering with social works organizations. Jackie enjoys dancing, binging shows, and spending time with her friends.
