Emily is a senior at Oregon Episcopal School. As a passionate and caring member, she joined multiple community non-profit organizations and dedicated her school and free time to volunteering. As the co-founder of the OES dance club, she organized performances and led activities to bring passion to the disabled. As well as being one of the dance leaders of Jade Dance Team, she teaches members movements during practices and leads performances. Last summer, she extended her dedication to supporting teens experiencing mental health challenges by volunteering at the YouthLine Crisis Line. Continuously offering assistance, she attentively responds to calls and texts, providing essential help and guidance to those in need.

Oregon Chinese Coalition is proud to join the President of the United States in recognizing the volunteers who consistently take the time to make a difference in the lives of others. Therefore, it is a great honor to present the President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) to Emily Shang.
