Lucy is 16 years old and a current junior at West Linn High School. With a passion for making a difference, Lucy has volunteered extensively through a variety of initiatives, such as volunteering at the hospital, interning at her high schools Speech-Lanuage Pathology program, serving on the West Linn Youth Advisory Council, and many other local efforts. In the past year, Lucy has focused her efforts on MusicMed, a student-run and student-led nonprofit organization that uses the power of music to uplift the lives of patients and seniors. As Executive Director, Lucy leads organization-wide meetings, coordinates volunteers, and organizes fundraising events and benefit concerts. Through MusicMed, Lucy combines her love of music with her dedication to uplifting patients and seniors in the community. Lucy also holds prominent leadership roles as the president of both the WLHS Chinese Club and the Red Cross Club. She is an active member of the National Honor Society (NHS) and the Youth Council for the Chinese Friendship Association of Portland (CFAP). In her CFAP role, she has helped organize and performed at numerous large-scale cultural events, such as the 2024 Lunar New Year Gala at Keller Auditorium.
Oregon Chinese Coalition is proud to join the President of the United States in recognizing the volunteers who consistently take the time to make a difference in the lives of others. Therefore, it is a great honor to present the President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) to Wenyan Lu.
