Jiaying (Sirena) Chen - Gold Award

Jiaying (Sirena) is a junior at Lincoln High School. She is passionate about music, teaching, and civics. With OCC, Sirena founded the OCC Guitar Club, where she teaches guitar to adults and youth. The club performs at various OCC cultural events, singing Chinese folk songs to promote the Chinese culture. Sirena also serves on Oregon Department of Education’s Ongoing Community Rules Advisory, which helps write equitable administrative rules for education. Continuing her love for civics, Sirena leads Lincoln’s Mock Trial team. Through volunteering, Sirena hopes to spread joy and reach for a better future together as a community.

Oregon Chinese Coalition is proud to recognize the volunteers who consistently take the time to make a difference in the lives of others. Therefore, it is a great honor to present the Community Volunteer Service Award (CVSA) to Jiaying Chen.
