Medford: St. Mary’s School

7th Grade: The introductory course is designed specifically for the Seventh Grade . Students will experience Mandarin Chinese language and culture through many activities such as singing and arts and crafts . Language acquisition will come naturally as a result of their participation in these fun, immersion-based activities . Students will learn simple Mandarin phrases as well as simple Chinese characters and gain a foundation for studying Chinese in the future .

8th Grade: This is a standard high-school level Chinese I course. The goal of first-year Chinese is to teach students essential daily conversation skills, expand vocabulary, practice rhythms to improve tonality and accent, introduce writing strokes and stroke order. Students will learn beginning characters and how to read basic characters. As the year progresses we will explore Chinese culture and history.

High school Offers World Language Chinese I, II, III, IV, and AP Chinese.
