The 8th Youth Roundtable is scheduled to take place on Sunday, the 29th of this month, at Hope Chinese Charter School. This year’s format will include some innovations: from 12:00 PM to 1:45 PM, there will be a dedicated session for current college students and graduates (including those taking a gap year). OCC will provide a light lunch for attendees. The purpose of this session is to help these young individuals, who have grown alongside the community over the years, stay connected with the community and build new connections with one another.

Following this, we will welcome middle school and high school students to join, offering them a valuable opportunity to interact freely with the college students and graduates. We will provide a list and brief introductions of the participating college students and graduates either on-site or in advance. This portion of the event combines mentorship and social engagement, providing an excellent platform for all participating youth to grow and learn.

We encourage those who are attending college or entered the workforce in the past eight years to sign up for this event. We also hope our middle and high school students will take full advantage of this rare opportunity.

12/29/2024 Update

It seems the new format of the Youth Roundtable was a success! During the first hour, college students and graduates mingled effortlessly, exchanging valuable insights about careers and the current job market. In the second half, participants were divided into groups, with college students and graduates rotating between tables. Discussions focused on college life and preparation, fostering meaningful exchanges and guidance. Some PVSA recipients were present to receive their medals and recognition. This year, we proudly supported 75 students in certifying their volunteer hours to apply for these awards.
