Allison is an 8th grader at West Sylvan Middle School. This year she has done a lot of work for OCC, the Youthlink program, and the Chinese Youth and Women Development Organization.

For OCC, she has volunteered at Lan Su Chinese Gardens Chinese Culture Corner, and video edited for the Chinese Festival. Although, most of her volunteering under OCC has been for the Jade Dance Team. With Jade Dance Team, she has participated in many performances to spread Chinese culture. This summer, she also taught a reading and writing class for the Youthlink program. For the Chinese Youth and Women Development Organization, she worked as a guest MC for an event in December, and she did an environmental speech as a Chinese Rose Princess during Chinese New Year. In August, she crowned the 2022 Rose Princesses and did a gu zheng performance at the Chinese Rose Princess 2022 Crowning Party, and she participated at “A Night with Allison Burke” as a Chinese Rose Princess.

Oregon Chinese Coalition is proud to join the President of the United States in recognizing the volunteers who consistently take the time to make a difference in the lives of others. Therefore, it is a great honor to present the President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) to Allison Hu.
