社区历史资料扫描项目

历史不能只是听人来讲，因为各种原因历史事实会走样。所以，了解我们社区历史，原始资料会是不可或缺的。作为口述历史项目的一部分，我们将组织青少年将能够收集到的历史资料数字化，整理好后放在网上，让社区成员和公众都能够看到。今天，Meilan和Brian两位中学生来到Gloria家中，在妈妈们的协助下，扫描了70年代由中华会馆出版的《俄勒冈华人新闻》和一些社区活动照片。这些珍贵的资料都是我们第一次见到，感叹几十年前社区的生活真的是丰富多彩。

这将是一个持续性的活动，手中有社区活动资料(照片，简报，宣传广告)的社区成员请联系我们。我们会尽快把扫描好的文件放在OCC网站上，供大家查询使用。

History cannot just be told. As part of the Oral History project, we organize the youth to digitize historical items and make them accessible to the community and general public. Today two high school students, Meilan and Brian, went to Gloria’s house and scanned back issues of Oregon Chinese News and some activity photos in the 1970s.
